What are the best activity bars in London for an office social?

The short answer
The best activity bars for an office social are the ones that take your whole team in one booking. Puttshack and Clays suit teams of up to about 20, Flight Club, Toca Social and Sixes Cricket suit teams of 10 to 30, and Electric Shuffle and Hijingo suit teams of 30 or more. Check the age rules, the all-in cost per head and each venue’s booking terms before you commit.

Puttshack, Bank
From £14per person for a 9-hole round, or £20 for unlimited golf Sunday to Thursday
Puttshack is crazy golf where the ball does the scoring: each ball carries a chip that sensors under the green track, so a screen scores every hole without anyone writing anything down. Bank has three 9-hole courses, and a round for two players takes about 30 minutes, with larger groups taking longer. A full kitchen and cocktail bar run the length of the venue, including the signature Sapphire Island Iced Tea, so nobody has to leave the course to order.

Clays, Soho
From £10per person for the arcade, or £12 to £14 for a private shooting bay
Clays is virtual clay pigeon shooting. You stand at a semi-private shooting bay with a motion-tracked, shotgun-style controller and shoot at clays projected onto a screen, with automatic scoring and a live leaderboard across six games. Soho is set in a 1930s Art Deco building on Brewer Street, and the food is a sharing-style menu from Culinary Director Roger Olsson, formerly of the Dorchester and the Ritz London, with clarified cocktails as the signature drinks. A separate arcade space, at Soho only, has faster multiplayer games for up to five players per station.

Flight Club, Shoreditch
From £10per person, up to £17, for 60 or 90 minutes of social darts
Flight Club is social darts. Each group gets its own throwing area with a board, a screen and automatic scoring, and plays short arcade-style games rather than a standard match, so nobody needs to know the scoring. Food and drink are brought to the throwing area, covering wings, tacos, sliders, sticks, a sharing platter and pizzas, with 0% beers, mocktails and 0% spirits alongside the full bar. Every booking also gets a personal highlight reel of its best throws after the visit.

Toca Social, The O2
From £10per person, up to £23, for a private game box session
Toca Social is interactive football. Your group plays in a private game box, an enclosed bay with its own screen, where a machine serves real footballs and you aim at targets on the screen while the games score themselves. Beginner modes are built so that someone who has never played can still score, and the harder settings give stronger players something to aim at. Food is brought to the box while you play, including wings, tenders, birria tacos, burgers and sandwiches, with a full cocktail menu and low-alcohol and alcohol-free options, and the venue has foosball tables, arcade machines and photo booths for afterwards.

Victoria is in the Zig Zag Building on Victoria Street, a 5 to 10 minute walk from Victoria station.

£27.50per person for a BOOM Bundle of one game, two drinks and food
Boom Battle Bar is a games bar with seven activities under one roof: axe throwing, augmented-reality darts, crazier golf, shuffleboard, American pool, beer pong and karaoke booths. Every booking is a bundle of one full-length game (55 minutes for most games and 30 for axe throwing), two premium drinks, and either two street food plates or a burger per person. The Liverpool Street site is on Chaucer Gardens, closer to Aldgate East station than to Liverpool Street itself.

Sixes Cricket, London Bridge
From £10per person off-peak, or £15.75 at peak
Sixes is social cricket. Groups bat in a net against virtual bowling projected onto a screen, the system tracks and scores every shot, and there is no fielding. The kitchen and bar run full-time with burgers, pizza and sharing plates, including arancini, sliders, gyoza, croquettes and churros, and group packages add tiered food and drink bundles with drink tokens. London Bridge is on Bermondsey Street, a short walk from London Bridge station.

Electric Shuffle, London Bridge
From £10per person, up to £17, for 60 or 90 minutes
Electric Shuffle is shuffleboard where the table does the work: you slide weighted pucks down a long board, and a projection system runs the games, scores every shot and keeps the leaderboard. Food and drink are ordered through a call button on the scoreboard and brought to the table, with sourdough pizzas as the standout alongside cocktails, burgers and small plates. Weekend brunch is bottomless, with two hours of pizza and Prosecco or beer, an hour of shuffleboard and live DJs. London Bridge is under the railway arches on Bermondsey Street, a short walk from the station.

Hijingo, Shoreditch
From £10per person, up to £24, for game entry; food and drink are separate
Hijingo is bingo run as a production: a host, lasers, a light show and six rounds over about two hours, with prizes that include cash jackpots and holidays. Seats are sold for a specific show, and everyone plays on an electronic ticket at a table. Food covers bar bites, burgers, baos and fries, with a full cocktail list, and plant-based, vegetarian and non-gluten options are marked on the menu. Shoreditch is the only Hijingo site, a walk from Old Street, Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street.

How do you choose an activity bar for an office social?
Start with the size of your team
Standard online bookings stop at different headcounts, so team size narrows the list faster than anything else. Below about 20 people almost every venue here works, and above 30 you will usually be booking through an events team.
Under 10 people

Toca Social and Flight ClubToca Social opens games at 9am at weekends, and Flight Club has no group minimum before 4pm.Late night
Clays and Boom Battle BarBoth are open until midnight on the busiest nights.Think about the kind of evening
Flight Club, Toca Social, Sixes, Clays, Puttshack and Electric Shuffle all have colleagues play against each other in teams or rounds. Lane7 and Boom Battle Bar put several games in one booking, which helps when the team wants different things, and Hijingo is a show that the whole room watches and plays along with at once.
Think about whether people can talk
We have not measured noise levels, so we cannot give you a decibel figure. Hijingo is a lights-and-lasers show with a host, which makes it the least suited to conversation, and our rating of Boom Battle Bar describes it as rowdy. Reviewers describe weekday afternoons and early evenings as calmer than weekend nights at most activity bars.
What does an office social cost per head all in?
Most activity bars charge for the game and leave food and drink separate, so the price on the booking page is only part of the bill. The table shows the activity price, what else you pay, and a rough total where the venue’s published prices let us work one out.
| Venue | Activity price | What else you pay | Rough total per person |
|---|---|---|---|

What are the best tips for booking an office social?
When should you book?
Weekend and evening slots go first. Toca Social’s Saturday afternoons sell out well in advance while its weeknights rarely do, and Hijingo’s popular Saturday shows sell out early. Clays, Sixes, Hijingo and Electric Shuffle take larger groups and events through their events teams rather than the standard booking page, and Toca Social releases Christmas dates separately and later. As a rule of thumb, start asking for quotes three to four weeks ahead for a team of 15 or more, and earlier for December.
Collect the details first
Gather a final headcount, dietary needs and the names of anyone who does not drink before you book, because venues ask for numbers up front and some take full payment at booking. Confirm what the company is covering as well, since the booking price rarely includes the game, the food and the drinks together.
Ask about deadlines and drop-outs
Cancellation terms vary a lot. Toca Social lets you cancel free up to 48 hours before, Electric Shuffle allows changes up to 48 hours before but does not refund the gaming fee after that, and Boom Battle Bar bookings are non-refundable with at least 24 hours’ notice needed to reschedule. Ask each venue for its deadline to confirm final numbers and what happens if people drop out.
Ask whether the space is private or shared
Some bookings give your team a semi-private area, as at Electric Shuffle and Clays, while others share a room with the public. Hijingo’s main room seats 185, so ask whether your team can sit together, and tell the venue early if separate parties want to be side by side.
What should you check before you book?
Age rules
Electric Shuffle is 18 and over for everyone who plays. Clays is 18 and over, Boom Battle Bar is 18 and over after 7pm, Toca Social becomes 18 and over from 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays and from 7pm on other days, and Lane7’s basement arcade is for over-18s only. We have not confirmed the age rules at Hijingo, Puttshack or Sixes, so check them if anyone under 18 is coming.
Payment
Hijingo takes debit cards only for game entry, Boom Battle Bar is cashless, and Puttshack takes full payment at booking.
Accessibility
Toca Social at The O2 is step-free throughout, and Electric Shuffle, London Bridge is mostly step-free with accessible toilets apart from one raised shuffleboard. Clays, Soho spans several floors. We have not confirmed access at the other venues, so contact them before you book.
Prices and rules change. Check each venue’s own booking page before you book.
Common questions about an office social
- Which activity bar is best for an office social if some of the team don’t drink?
- Flight Club and Toca Social are the two where we have confirmed an alcohol-free range: Flight Club serves 0% beers, mocktails and 0% spirits, and Toca Social lists low-alcohol and alcohol-free options. Both are built around the game rather than the bar. We have not confirmed the alcohol-free options at the other venues, so ask before you book.
- Which activity bar is best for a team that likes a drink?
- Boom Battle Bar includes two drinks in its £27.50 bundle, and Lane7 runs a happy hour from 4pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday, with 2-for-1 cocktails and £5 pints, wine and spirits. Electric Shuffle’s weekend brunch includes two hours of bottomless Prosecco or beer with pizza and an hour of shuffleboard.
- Which activity bar is best for an evening night out?
- Clays is open until midnight from Tuesday to Saturday, Boom Battle Bar until midnight from Thursday to Saturday, and Lane7 until midnight on most nights. Toca Social’s last game starts at 11:15pm from Thursday to Saturday. Hijingo runs timed evening shows rather than open play, so pick a show time that suits the team.
- Which activity bar is best for a daytime or lunchtime social?
- Toca Social has the earliest start, with the first game at 9am on Saturday and Sunday, 11am on Friday and noon on Wednesday and Thursday. Flight Club has no minimum group size before 4pm, and Puttshack charges the same flat price all day. Electric Shuffle runs a weekend brunch with an hour of shuffleboard included.
- Which activity bar is best for a big team of 30 or more?
- Electric Shuffle’s semi-private area takes groups of 2 to 32, and its events team handles 33 to 400. Hijingo’s main room seats up to 185, and groups of 15 or more can book the raised Neko Box. Puttshack can host up to 650 guests in a full buyout, and Sixes runs large venue hire for 50 to 250 people. Toca Social’s online booking stops at 24, so larger groups go through its events team.
- Which activity bar is best for a small team of fewer than 10?
- Puttshack’s private golf suite seats up to 6, Clays takes groups of 2 to 20 in one shooting bay, and Toca Social gives groups of 4 to 6 a 60-minute session. Flight Club needs at least four guests from 4pm on Monday and Tuesday, and at least six from 4pm on Wednesday to Friday and all day Saturday.
- Which activity bar is best if nobody on the team has played before?
- Flight Club, Toca Social, Sixes Cricket and Electric Shuffle are all built for beginners. Flight Club’s games are arcade-style with automatic scoring, Toca Social has beginner modes, Sixes uses virtual bowling with no fielding, and the Electric Shuffle table explains each game as you play. Puttshack and Clays also score automatically.
- Which activity bar is best for a quieter social where people can talk?
- We have not measured noise levels at any of these venues. Hijingo is a lights-and-lasers show with a host, so it suits conversation least. Reviewers describe weekday afternoons and early evenings as calmer than weekend nights at most activity bars.
- Which activity bar is best for an office Christmas party?
- Clays, Sixes, Hijingo and Electric Shuffle all take larger groups and events through their events teams, and Toca Social releases its Christmas dates separately and later than standard slots. We have not verified Christmas package prices, so ask each venue for a quote as early as you can.
- Which activity bars are accessible and step-free?
- Toca Social at The O2 is step-free throughout, including North Greenwich station. Electric Shuffle, London Bridge is mostly step-free with accessible toilets, but one shuffleboard sits on a raised platform that is not wheelchair accessible. Clays, Soho is a multi-floor venue, so confirm step-free access with the venue. We have not confirmed access at the other venues, so contact them before you book.
- Which activity bars are best near the City, Canary Wharf or the West End?
- In the City, Puttshack is directly connected to Bank station, Boom Battle Bar is five minutes from Aldgate East, and Hijingo and Flight Club are in Shoreditch near Old Street. Sixes and Electric Shuffle are both a short walk from London Bridge. Clays and Electric Shuffle also have Canary Wharf sites, Clays has its Soho venue near Piccadilly Circus, and Lane7 is near Victoria station.
- What is the cheapest activity bar for an office social?
- Hijingo has Sunday shows from £10, Toca Social’s last slots of the night cost around £10 to £12, and Flight Club and Electric Shuffle cost £10 per person for an hour from Sunday to Tuesday. See our guide to the cheapest activity bars in London for the full list.
